Why do we celebrate Easter?
Easter is when we get to celebrate the victory of life over death. Over the weekend we observe the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
We celebrate Jesus' resurrection on Easter Sunday (March 31, 2024), but there would be no resurrection without His suffering death on a cross. Jesus was arrested, tried, beaten and eventually crucified all so that we may have eternal life with Him. The entire story of easter can be found in the gospels, (Matthew 26-28, Mark 15-16, Luke 22-24, and John 17-20).
We understand and believe that through the actions and sacrifice of Jesus we not only have salvation but healing, hope, forgiveness, and direct access to the Father.
